PALENQUE

The typy of music and dancing in palenque is similar to the one we saw in the alvin aley music company video, I´m sure this is because of their roots, both come from Africa,  A continent with one of the most strong cultures all over the world. It´s population have suffers many years of slavery in all of the parts they were taken to. This has influence a lot their culture and the way they express their feelings in dancing and singing.The difference might be in the region they were, in America things were different from Colombia.

Here, the "Mestizaje" contributed to decrease a little bit the racism but none of this happened in the US, that´s a reason why we could apreciated in the video their desire to be free. 

MY PERSONAL CULTURE

Since I was little I´ve been practicing many extra-curricular activities. I begun with painting. I have an uncle named arturo who really loves painting, every saturday he used to spend hours teaching me to draw and paint in differents thecniques and materials. Now days I enjoy painting a lot. While I was growing up my parents made me attend to courses like, Kumon, American thecniques for reading fast, ballet, french, english,swimming, even taek-won do but I quitted; I regret about the last one, now my brother is a black belt and I dont even know how to defend myself. All this activities during my childhood and teenage made me a diciplined person and thats something I value a lot, I hate not being in something, but I´m perfectly cool being late for things, I guess it´s because my culture.
my musical tastes? I have a lot, I listen from rock to salsa. My favorite bands are The Killers, Mumford and Sons and Mika , I have a crush on all of them. 

AFROCOLOMBIANS

In my opinion the discrimination against Afro is a phenomenon that comes from the very moment that Africans arrived as slaves, they have had to fight against this social status for many years. This should not be just a struggle of Afro but also of the entire population,we all deserve to be treated on an equal conditions and for that goal  the constitution protects us. I think the observatory makes a great work but not only have to work with the allegations but changing the mindset of the people.

MY FAVORITE CARNIVAL MOMENTS

                     THE "CIPOTE MARIMONDA"

 One of my two favorite carnival moments was being part of the "batalla de flores" as a marimonda. it was really fun, I had an awesome time with all of my friends, we dance a lot and also walk a lot.

the journey was quite long and tiring because of the sun and all the dancing; we had to be encoraging the viewers all the time but eventhough all the above, it was an unforgettable experience for me.

                

                       BEER FESTIVAL 2013

After the batalla de flores, me and my friends went to the beer festival, we were really exited for all the artists but specially arcangel.

I was really tired but we were all happy to be there so we endure all the day, after all the presentations, we had to walk like 5 miles to get a taxi, as we were a lot of people we dispersed at the exit of the stadium and only a few ( including me) walk until we get in a fast food restaurant, that day was really amazing but also exhausting, the next day I wasnt able to get up .

Tinariwen’s Iswegh Attay

Tuareg culture in the video seems to be very peaceful they what to show the world another way to solve the problems thru music and thats really important.

knowing the meaning of the video and whatching all those images made me realize the objetive of the lyrics, his music its not for a group of people, its for everyone but i also understand how they what to give hope to their people and thats very admirable.
